About Me

Hi, my name is James Kanka. I graduated from George Mason University with a BA in Communication focusing on Media Production and Criticism. Since then I have been doing freelance camera work, video editing, and event setup. I did these things under the name of Whatever Moves You Productions, a website I created to post my resume and demo reel. I've always been a big fan of new technology and computers and somehow it led me to art and story telling... most of the time it is the other way around. However I got here, I'm glad I am. Art is what make us human and what pulls us from just our selves and realize that we are a part of something much bigger. As an artist I've discovered that of the many art forms there is only one which combines music, pictures, pros, poetry, and storytelling, and it is film. For that reason film has captured me and put me on a conquest to perfect my art of storytelling through film and video. My love of stories, people, and video naturally led me to a desire to capture people's stories on video. Bio-Pics was born.
